OUR STORY
The Full Story
It is often others who inspire us towards change.
It was a client, let's call him Steve, who inspired Alex Voloshin to found BridgeWay To Independence, Inc. back in 2017. Alex had been working in healthcare and as a job coach/ILS worker. Steve, a member of the LGBTQ community living with a disability, was one of Alex's clients and had shared with Alex his history of past workers who didn't take the time to get to know him, understand him, or provide high-quality services. Alex believed that it was of utmost importance to provide Steve with the highest quality of care, which saw the start of a strong working relationship with Steve.
Later, when Alex told Steve that he had decided to move in another direction and would not be able to be his worker moving forward, Steve asked Alex if there were a way to continue working together. He did not want to go back to square one with a new worker and was committed to going wherever Alex went. Alex hadn't really thought about starting a business, but he didn't feel comfortable leaving Steve at the mercy of the companies Steve worked with in the past. Steve wanted to continue with a worker who valued and respected him. So, Alex decided to roll up his sleeves and start a company where every person, regardless of ability, would be provided high-quality care to live life to their fullest potential.
