JOB COACH
The Job Coach provides one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities to achieve their career goals. A Job Coach is responsible for evaluating a person’s skill set and assisting them in reaching their fullest potential within their career of choice.
A Job Coach with BridgeWay To Independence is employed to help individuals prepare for employment, search for employment, learn, accommodate, and perform their work duties. In addition to working on skills related to performing specific job tasks, the job coach also helps with interpersonal skills necessary in the workplace and during the interview process. A job coach advocates for their clients’ rights and secures workplace accommodations when needed.
A Job Coach must be a mentor eager to support individuals of all backgrounds. They must be able to discover people’s strengths and weaknesses and help them determine what type of employment is best for them. Having communication skills partnered with critical thinking is a prerequisite for this job.
A Job Coach understands and assists in meeting the mission and service goals of BridgeWay To Independence, Inc., works within the limitations of the agency’s resources, and performs all duties in compliance with agency standards.
IN-HOME COACH
The Individualized Home Supports (IHS) and Semi-Independent Living Services (SILS) Coach provides one-on-one instruction and support to individuals with disabilities to assist them in living in their own home or working towards moving from their family’s home.
The IHS/SILS Coach coaches and role-models activities of daily living including, but not limited to, morning and evening routines, personal hygiene, cleaning, laundry, daily chores, meal planning, cooking, budgeting, shopping, healthy nutrition, social interactions, community outings, and use of public transportation. Primary instruction takes place in the individual’s home and local community.
The IHS/SILS Coach understands and assists in meeting the mission and service goals of BridgeWay To Independence, Inc. and works within the limitations of the agency’s resources and performs all duties in compliance with agency standards.
PAY SCALE:
Starting Pay: $19-20 hourly
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in human services related field preferred.

High School Diploma or equivalent with at least two (2) years of professional experience working with adults with physical disabilities, mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities required.

Must pass a criminal background check.

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite.

Demonstrated experience with general computer skills, including but not limited to, productivity software, communication tools, and database management.

Must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver's License.

Must have reliable transportation with proof of insurance.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to work directly with clients. Reasonable accommodation will be given to those who request it for medical or religious reasons.

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Coaching

Writes effective resumes and cover letters.

Prepares clients for interviews using mock interview practices and attends interviews with clients as needed.

Engages in effective job search techniques and creates and manages multiple accounts on job search sites such as Indeed, LinkedIn, and Glassdoor.

Assesses the strengths and weaknesses of individuals, and helps to strengthen positive attributes.

Guides clients on the job in learning to complete job tasks with the goal of creating the most independence possible for clients.

Develops transportation plans to and from job sites.

Advises on workplace accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Has a working understanding of the rights under the ADA to advise both clients and employers.

Keeps records and documentation and prepares appropriate reports on time.

Effectively manages time with a multiple client case load and works well with little to no direct daily supervision.

Creates and writes person centered plans for clients that meet all DHS requirements.
In-Home (ILS/IHS) Coaching

Works with the Director of In-Home Services and program participants to develop a person-centered plan to assist clients in reaching their highest level of independent living.

Provides support to develop and follow a consistent training schedule of independent living skills with individuals as determined by their support plan.

Promotes and teaches self-advocacy, personal, domestic, medical, financial, social/recreational, communication, and behavior management skills to maintain independence.

Completes daily written documentation of activities as assigned, including plans, progress notes and reports.

Has ability to exercise mature judgment and relate to individuals in a warm and caring manner.

Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings.

Safeguards client privacy and confidentiality, making sure protected health information is secured.
